Spanish government will offer direct aid

to municipalities in Coclé

NATA, Coclé. – The Spanish government will offer a direct payment as a donation to the six municipalities of the province of Coclé, Governor Richard Fifer-Carles revealed.

The support will reach almost half a million dollars and is intended for studies in each municipality to finalize the administrative and financial decentralization process which has been proposed through the creation of the Association of Municipalities in Coclé (AMUCO).

Fifer said that, in the coming days, people who will make a technical, operational and functional evaluation of municipalities in Coclé will be arriving from Spain.

On the basis of diagnosis obtained, studies on irrigation projects, wastewater systems and aqueducts will be made.

Another aspect to be covered by the Spanish is the region’s tourism potential. Projects on the proper handling of wastes and their disposal will also be presented.

To accomplish these programs, the Spanish ambassador, Manuel Lorenzo, will visit the province, along with Winston Spadafora, Secretary of Government and Justice.

It is planned that during the visit the Ambassador will officially delivery $100 thousand dollars that will be used to build the Arnulfo Arias Madrid amusement park, one of the campaign promises made ​​by President Mireya Moscoso.

The park will be built on land belonging to Arnulfo Arias Madrid, which was donated to the Municipality of Penonomé with the aim of developing the aforementioned park.
