Remote communities benefit from road repair

In addition to potable water, health services, housing, education, electricity and telecommunication, one of the great necessities of the inhabitants of the rural and mountain areas of the country is the lack of adequate access roads, in which to travel and transports goods and their productions to peripheral markets.

Budget constrains limit the action of the state to fully satisfy these demands, so in this scenarios companies that advance the development of these projects in this rural areas, commit to bringing this answer to the communities, within their internal politics of Social Responsibility Policy (RSE).

 

Because of this the Petaquilla Gold, S.A. Company, lead by the businessman Richard Fifer Carles, thru the Petaquilla Foundation, promotes the repair of the streets of the communities of Cocle; so that the inhabitants can transport themselves and above all bring their production to the markets, achieving this way the optimization of their livelihood activities.

Thus, the foundation has undertaken the project of rehabilitation of roads in the community of Villa del Carmen, in the township of Llano Grande in the district of La Pintada.

The repair work began with an act of ceremony attended by the representative of Llano Grande, Jorge Guardado y the collaborator of Petaquilla Foundation, Dagmar Martinez.

Once completed these task, transportation would be made agile and it would also allow the students to arrive safely and with greater rapidity at their training centers.

Similarly, in the province of Colon the Petaquilla foundation has carried out the repairs of the principal streets of the community of Coclesito, in the township of San Jose del General, of the district of Donoso; which was started with a formal ceremony head by the teacher Eleno Gonzalez member of the committee Mina and Luis Anel collaborator of Petaquilla Gold, S.A.

In recognition to the importance of the development of these sectors and communities in need in Panama, the promotion and execution of projects and help programs of social assistant, health, environment, education and cultural, especially in the area of influence of the mining project of Petaquilla, the nonprofit association Petaquilla foundation was created.

Petaquilla foundation is an organization worried about the promotion of a culture of sustainable development in the area of influence of the mining Project Petaquilla, with impact to the rest of the country.

To create and maintain social programs that promotes the economic independence of the participants, providing the means necessary for the communities to achieve development and to improve the quality of life.
