Petaquilla Mining brings to Panama a model of sustainable mining

The mine developing plan of the company, includes all the requirements of environmental mitigation and prevention and the social support programs. The environmental conservation policy as meant an investment of more than 700 thousand so far this year, while the social investment represents and amount close to 1 million dollars.

 

The government of Panama approved in 2005, by e MICI resolution, the development plan in several phases presented by the company, the first phase of the development plan of the gold deposit of Molejon began in 2006.

 

Molejon is the biggest gold Project of Central America, and its march would boost the economy of colon and specially cocle.

 

To open the road for the mining industry in Panama is the vision of the Petaquilla company, which will be collaborating closely with the ANAM and the Department of Mining resources, during all the projects progress.

 

 

This natural resource would only bring wealth and prosperity to the Panamanians alongside the development of mining activity in panama which is committed to sustainability.

 

To the date over 1,000 employments direct and indirect have been generated and at the moment in which production begins, there would be several thousand people that would have job positions related to the activity, not only in the related area but also through the country.

Petaquilla Minerals is respectful to the labor legislation and complies with all the compromises and agreements both in the labor contest as in social security. With regards to benefits of the company’s social insurance fund, this amount is approximately $114,000.00 per month.

 

The model of sustainable modeling development elected for the exploitation of the gold and copper of Molejon and Cerro Petaquilla, guarantee the economic and social development of all the influenced area, and to help the quality of life of the habitants of the Cocle, Colon and Vergauas provinces, using efficiently all the resources with the adequate technology, restoring the ecosystem that may be affected and above all, recognizing that the respect for nature is vital for the well being of all.
