Castilla del Oro Foundation on the horizon

Doctor Montañés besides the Duke of Veraguas in Parita

The Castilla del Oro Foundation is touristic project that is in the line of the horizon where the sky and earth get together said the president of this organization in Panama, doctor Pascual Montanes.

During the recent visit of the Duke of Veragua Cristobal Colon de Carvajal, international president of the foundation, Montanes told how this organization was created.”The history of Castilla del Oro began during a conversation with the businessman Richard Fifer Carles” he said.

On the way they met the Duke of Veraguas who they offered the international presidency of the foundation, an offer that was accepted by Colon de Carvajal who have visited Panama twice since the organization was created.

“From that point we dreamed to create a project that would be in the line of the horizon, where the sky and earth get together” said Montanes, when he explained the goals of this important organization

He stresses the great tourism potential of this region that during the colonial age was known as Castilla del Oro, not only for it historical legacy, but for the spiritual sense and religious aspect.

A big untapped potential, just as Montanes said, in the city of Sevilla, Spain, they receive more revenue for the activities during the Holy Week than the fair of April, even though the first one lasts seven days and the second 14 days.

The human being, regardless of its religious affiliation it needs its spirituality and there are places in the world where this spirituality is lived, said Montanes.

“The project Castilla del Oro – an original idea of the Engineer Richard Fifer-Carles – tries to bring all of that and have used all of his skills to achieve the touristic development on these areas. The best thing that could happen to Castilla del Oro is that the whole central area of the country becomes the end of the route of Santiago in America” he said.

Montanes said that the route of Santiago, patron saint of Spain, ends in Compostela and is a route full of spirituality.

“We want to have –in Castilla del Oro we have found a diamond in rough that we have to polish- the huge possibility to make the route of Santiago, offer or communicate that the route of Santiago can also be done in America”, said the president of the Foundation Castilla del Oro in Panama.
